For Virgil: An Open Mic for our Open Hearts

  • A Reason to Survive (ARTS) 200 East 12th Street National City, CA, 91950 United States (map)

Virgil passed away in the early morning of Saturday, November 12th, due to issues he had with his heart for some time. On behalf of the Yalong Family, join us for the things Virgil loved most: community and art.

We will be holding an open mic night at ARTS (A Reason to Survive), where Virgil was a Teacher and an Artist. There is no fee to attend. We will be accepting donations to aid the family during this difficult time.

If you would like to volunteer to help, please message us here or use the form below to help.

If you'd like to contribute creatively in the open mic, use this google form and someone will be in contact with you:

Thank you to ARTS for making the space he loved available for this, and to all of you for your support.

In his own words:
"I stood as I always did. Fists closed, head up, eyes to the sky. I praise the Lord for the fighter I am... So it be known. The winter has been my enemy and I face it once again. Christ carries me. But my fists flow swiftly. I may not win. But I will not lose so easily."
